Youth

Mid-High (Grades 6 - 8)

SUNDAY SCHOOL:  Every Sunday, the Mid High youth have Sunday School in Room 38 from 10:10 am to 10:55 am.

This year the Mid High will write and perform a skit for the kick-off of each Children's Ministry rotation.  Additionally, one Sunday a month will be either a Service Project Sunday or a Guest Speaker Sunday.  As always, parents are welcome and encouraged to attend.

POWER & LIGHT: Power and Light, our Mid-High youth group, meets every Wednesday for food, fellowship and fun from 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm in Room 38. Once a month the Power & Light group will plan an additional event. Types of activities include movies, field trips, lock-ins, and games, just to mention a few.  The P & L kids also plan to be Acolytes for the 9:00 am worship service.

Senior High (Grades 9 - 12)

SUNDAY SCHOOL: Every Sunday, the Senior High youth gather for Sunday School in the Youth Room from 10:10 am to 10:55 am.

This year the Senior High will meet two Sundays a month in the church kitchen for "eat and greet" fellowship.  We'll be making something to eat, sharing our week and visiting about whatever is on our mind.

One Sunday a month we'll participate in the Service Project or Guest Speaker event shared with the Mid Highs.  As always, parents are welcome and encouraged to attend.

EXP II: This year we are starting a new group.  The 10th grade class will meet every first Sunday at 2:00 pm for the fun of it and plan an out-of-church event every month.  We had so much fun being together last year in Exploration that we just want to keep it rolling!

GUITAR GROUP: This is the second year for the Senior High Guitar Group.  We plan to meet every Sunday at 3:30 pm to learn the basics of guitar playing and continue to grow in our ability.  Last year we performed in a couple of places.

If you've never played guitar and want to learn the basics, we even have guitars to loan you. If you've been playing for a while and just want to have fun and expand your abilities, we would love to have you join us.

ASP

For 30 years, Christ United Methodist Church has sent an ASP team down to Appalachia.  This year we are hoping to send 50 youth and 20 adults on the trip from July 2 - 12, 2011.  Check out the ASP link below.

The first Sunday of the month is reserved for our ASP (Appalachian Service Project) meetings.

S/NDVIM (North Dakota Volunteers in Mission)

This is a low preparation, family-oriented service trip to one of the Dakota Indian Reservations.  For information of S/NDVIM visit our missions page.

Exploration

Exploration is what our Confirmation program is all about. The word Exploration accurately reflects my position on what preparation for church membership ought to be. Our weekly meetings will be a time to explore issues and concepts; a time to explore relationships and beliefs; a time to explore God's place in our life and our place in God's life; a time to explore Christ's call to discipleship.

Exploration (Confirmation) Classes meet on Wednesday evenings from 7:00 - 8:00 pm starting September 15, 2010.  Confirmation Sunday will be May 1, 2011.  It is a wonderful journey between now and then.

Parents are strongly encouraged to plan to be a part of the Exploration process!
