We all need a plan for our money. Financial Peace University (FPU) is that plan! Financial Peace University is a 9-week group class that is led by a volunteer coordinator. Through faith-based video teaching, class discussions and interactive small group activities, FPU presents biblical, practical steps to get participants from where they are to where they dreamed they could be. This plan will shows how to get rid of debt, manage money, spend, and save wisely.
FPU will meet every Monday evening from 6:30 - 8:30 pm at Christ United Methodist Church, beginning January 8, 2018 and will be coordinated by Colleen Johnson. Classes are fun, engaging, and will challenge current money management behavior. FPU covers financial topics relevant to everyone at any stage of life and in any financial situation — whether you are doing well or drowning in debt, a college student or about to retire. This class is designed to help you achieve your financial goals by showing you how to eliminate debt, save for the future, and give like never before.. Specific topics include debt reduction strategies, creating a zero-based budget, preparing for emergencies, cash-flow planning, the role of insurance, saving for college/retirement, the role marketing plays on our financial decisions, as well as the ways different people relate to money.
Participants are required to purchase an FPU Membership kit per "family unit". FPU kits are purchased directly from Dave Ramsey’s website and generally costs $129, but often goes on sale. Kits should be purchased prior to the first class if possible.
