The Rust College Choir from Holly Springs, Mississippi will be performing a concert at CUMC on Tuesday, April 21 at 7:00pm. We are looking for some host families to house these wonderful singers while they are here. A Hopeful Earth. On April 19, at 10:15am in the Hamline Room. Come and get involved! Meet with a group of CUMC members interested in caring for our earth and making our church more active in saving energy and promoting good practices in conservation of resources. We’ll be talking about how our church is part of a greener, healthier movement. Also, Earth Fest is coming up. Let’s get a strong presence there! Really Basic Bible Study. This group will be taught April 26th and May 10th and 17th in Hamline from 10:10am-11am by Pastor Martha Hendricks. How to find your way around the Bible, major themes of the Old and New Testaments, important stories that everyone should know, how to understand Jesus’ parables and the Psalms.
Basics of Islam and Discussion. Will be held May 3rd from 10:15am to 11:30am in the Hamline room, headed by Regina Mustafa-- a native of Philadelphia who founded the CIDI (Community Interfaith Dialogue on Islam.) Regina is devoted to fostering education and understanding amongst Rochester's diverse faith communities. She would love for YOU to join the discussion!
CUMC 101.April 25, 9am-noon in the Hamline Room (lower leverl) All newcomers who have been to a newcomer coffee and have decided they want to join Christ UMC are welcome. Lay leaders, staff and pastors will participate. We will take a look at our history and where we are heading. There will be delicious food and time to get to know you. We will find out how you want to get involved and connected with the ministries of Christ Church. Childcare will be available with advance notice.
